In need of a spur-of-the-moment dessert or an indulgent breakfast? This is your new go-to. It’s simple to put together and cooks in just 90 seconds in the microwave! You will have to dirty an extra bowl in order to get that cinnamon roll look, but it’s all worth it in the end. Give it a try and I hope you enjoy!

Steps

1
Done

Prep ingredients so everything goes smoothly and quickly.

2
Done

Using a fork, combine the flour, baking powder and soda, salt, sugar, butter, and milk in a small bowl. The dough will be a little sticky.

3
Done

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 4x6"

4
Done

Mix together your cinnamon and sugar, and sprinkle onto your dough. Leave about 1/2" of space around all the edges so that the dough can stick to itself. Fold the long edges over the sugar mixture slightly so that it doesn't leak out when you transfer the dough to the mug. Then roll from the short end and pinch the dough together to seal.

5
Done

Place the roll in a 12 oz. (ish) mug, and pop it in the microwave for 1:30-2:00 minutes at 50% power (depending on the strength of your microwave. Reducing the power allows the dough to cook slower so that it doesn't become tough and stays mouth-wateringly fluffy.

6
Done

While the cinnamon roll is in the microwave, mix the powdered sugar and sour cream to create an icing for your cinnamon roll. You can also use milk, but the sour cream mimics the cream cheese frosting flavor that usually accompanies a cinnamon roll. You can add more or less powdered sugar depending on how thick you want your icing to be.

7
Done

Take your roll out of the microwave, drizzle over the icing, and enjoy!
